More than just dressing up like the Peanuts Gang from It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, here’s some killer tips to celebrate Halloween with your friends.

What do you do when you run out of costume ideas for Halloween? Rehash an old one from years past? Try to find out if your brother or sister’s old costume will fit you? It’s going to happen sooner or later; you’ll blow everyone away with the most accurate, detailed, and creative costume possible, and the next thing you know you’ll be drawing a blank on costume ideas the next year around. Fear not (unless you want to, it is Halloween), there is a solution!

This year, if you really want to dress to impress, then it’s all about having good friends. Don’t just sit around debating what to wear until the last minute, only to cut holes in a white sheet and go as a ghost. Grab a few friends and pick a costume theme or idea that you all can share! However, If you’re going out in a group and you want a costume that people will talk about, then you need to coordinate.

Just like picking any costume, you want something that is either iconic enough that people will recognize it, or clever enough that they will ‘get’ it. Your options vary depending on how many people you plan on going out with but the more the merrier, so get your friends together, and get planning! Here are some group Halloween costume ideas to inspire you.

Femme Fatales

If three is a lucky number, then it certainly applies to Halloween. There are plenty of talented trios for you to masquerade as. If you were ever a fan of the Powerpuff Girls, then Bubbles, Buttercup, and Blossom are perfect female team for a Blonde, Dark, and Brunette. Better yet, any video game nerd is sure to recognize Yuna, Rikku, and Paine as the leading ladies of Final Fantasy X-2.

For a group of four, consider going out as the four seasons. With different costumes for Autumn, Winter, Summer, and Spring, your group is sure to make an impression wherever you go. Another option would be to dress as Princess Peach, Zelda, Samus and Pikachu, and hit the evening as the ‘Super Smash Sisters’.
If you’ve got five in your group, then the Spice Girls are an obvious choice. Another option would be to dress up as the classic Disney princesses, or team up as Sailor Moon and the rest of her Sailor Scouts.

Macho Men

For guys, possibly the most famous and hilarious trio would be the three stooges, but if you’re looking for a more topical group, pick up some guitars and drum sticks and go out as the Jonas brothers.

As a quartet, you could dress up as either the Three Musketeers (of whom there were in fact 4). You could also consider masquerading as Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo, and Michelangelo (either the artists, or the ninja turtles).

For a group of five, you can always dress as the village people. And if that doesn’t suit you, there’s an abundance of old boy bands that are sure to bring back memories.

Boils and Ghouls

If you’re going out in a big group of guys and girls, then you really have the most options to choose from. This is but one of the many reasons we say the more the merrier. From Batman to Star Wars, to Harry Potter and Resident Evil, there’s really no limit to what you can do with a bunch of friends. The hard part is in deciding what everyone will wear, and making sure everyone is on board. Be fair and be considerate; listen to everyone’s ideas while searching for your own, and there’s no way you won’t come up with a great theme.

If you’re searching specifically for Halloween costumes for groups, either online or in a store, then your costume theme is less likely to be unique. Instead, try searching for individual costumes that will fit into the theme of your group, and build upon that. Whether you’re trying to shock and amaze, or you’re just aiming to rouse a few laughs, the most important thing is that you have a fun and memorable experience with your friends on Halloween.
